Our Process:

I. Pay the Creative Fee


Once you’ve decided to book, I’ll send you an invoice for the Creative Fee/Retainer of $115. This fee secures your session date and covers my time and talent behind the camera. It’s important to note that the Creative Fee does not include digital images or products—it’s all about reserving your spot and making sure I can dedicate my energy to capturing your memories.

II. Plan & Photograph

Next, we get to the fun part: planning your session! You’ll fill out a short online questionnaire so I can get to know your family, your vision, and what makes your session uniquely you. We’ll also decide on the perfect location during this step. Once everything is set, we’ll capture your session—this is where the magic happens!

III. Deliver Memories


Within about two weeks, I’ll send you an online Proofing Gallery straight to your email. Here, you can relive your session, see your images come to life, and choose the Collection that best fits your family (options listed below). I’ll provide instructions to make it easy to pick your favorites. Within 48 hours of your Collection selection, an invoice will be sent, and once it’s paid, your chosen images will be delivered with a secure PIN so you can download them and start enjoying your memories right away.

Extended Family Sessions – $150:

For families with additional relatives beyond the immediate household, an add-on fee applies to cover extra setups and time. Capped at 10 additional people; for larger groups, please contact me for a custom quote. Edited images are included in your chosen collection.


Senior sessions, weddings, and newborn photography are specialty services and are priced separately.

FAQ

Where are you based and do you travel?

I’m located in Madison, Alabama, and serve the surrounding areas. Travel fees may apply for sessions over 30 miles from zip code 35756. Occasionally, I travel to West Virginia for sessions.

What locations are available for sessions?

Most sessions happen within 30 miles of zip code 35756. After you book and pay the Creative Fee, you’ll get access to a curated Location Guide with favorite spots and inspiration.

How many images will we receive and when?

The number depends on your Collection. Minimum investment is $290 + tax (Creative Fee + Simple Collection). Two weeks after your session, you’ll receive a Proofing Gallery to choose your images.

Are images edited?

Yes! Each image is professionally edited for lighting, blemishes, and background adjustments. Custom edits like tattoos or body adjustments are $40/image.

How will we receive and print our images?

All images are delivered via a private online gallery for 30 days. Download to your computer, not your phone, for best quality. You can print anywhere, but professional labs give the best results.

What should we wear for our session?

I guide wardrobe and style for cohesive, timeless images. Clothing may need to be purchased by the client. Avoid bright colors or busy patterns.

What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Outdoor sessions may be rescheduled for optimal light and comfort.

Can we bring props or pets?

Yes! Let me know in advance so we can plan to include them in your session.

Can we share our images online?

Yes, with credit to Megan Lathem Photography. Images may not be edited by clients.
