About MLP:

Hi there! I'm Megan Lathem, the heart behind MLP. I live in Madison, Alabama with my husband, our three amazing kids, and our sweet cat and dog. I’m originally from Beckley, West Virginia—and no matter where life takes me, I’ll always be a WV girl at heart.

Most days you’ll find me homeschooling, chasing my kiddos, sipping Milo’s tea or Diet Dr. Pepper, and enjoying the occasional iced coffee (water just isn’t my thing—oops!). I love Jesus, crafting, crime shows, and staying up way too late—whether I’m editing or just getting lost in a show. So if you ever get an email from me at 2 a.m.… now you know why!

I’m definitely an introvert—writing an “About Me” isn’t exactly my favorite thing—but they say you might want to know a bit about the person behind the camera, so here we are!

I’ve always been creative at heart. I hold degrees in Interior Design and Secondary Education and spent years working in the Kitchen & Bath and Lighting industries before teaching Home Economics and Career classes. But photography has always been woven into my life. I was that friend who always had a camera in hand, capturing moments big and small.

When my first child was born, my love for photography grew even deeper. I wanted to capture everything—every milestone, every smile, every fleeting little detail. That passion turned into what MLP is today: a space where I get to help other families preserve their own beautiful, meaningful memories.
